School Art 2012

A short promo for the Mendel's 2012 School Art Exhibit, editing from the footage I shot at last years opening reception. Plus a bit of fun with Motion.

Explorer Trailer

A teaser for my upcoming short film "Explorer".

Explorer's health has never been good, first dashing his prospects for acceptance into the space program, and more recently calling into question his chance of a normal life on earth. Faced with the paradox of astronauts living on the moon, he attempts to make his way to their colony with the hope that those who've mastered life on earth will have advice for someone now content to simply survive on earth.

Song is "I've Seen Enough" by the Cold War Kids.

If you've visited my website recently you may notice that this video doesn't have any ads attached to it anymore, and is hosted on Vimeo instead of Blip.tv. I had it on Blip as a test to see what views translated to in advertising moneys. So if you're curious, approximately 100 views translated into $0.02. Doing the math, if that ratio of compensation were to continue, a million views would equal $200. Now I know!

In order to get this video finished in the spring, I also plan on setting up a Kickstarter campaign in the near future. So if you enjoyed the trailer and want to see more (and not of me, but of a real actor!), consider tossing in a fiver; think of it as buying me a beer (except it would be used to hire a crew and actors), and you'd be helping to support a local filmmaker. I, as the recipient of your support, will provide compensation to the contributors in the form of small perks as well. For example, a Blu-ray copy for donations between $15-$20, or, for the greatest contributor, the astronauts helmet. It smells like army surplus but it sure does look cool!
